10/1/20- Limits
Let’s be real-nobody is infinite. Our intellects are limited by lack of experience. Think about it: why do racist people exist? Because their minds are not infinite. They are incapable of seeing the world from everyone’s eyes. Even people who try to expand their minds to the fullest can’t imagine what ‘nothing’ looks like, or what ‘death’ feels like. We are limited by our anxieties, bodies, feelings, lack of empathy, and many other factors.
However, there’s beauty in that limited state of being. There’s comfort in knowing everybody else is limited. Infinity is very lonely. There’s no one else to fill the voids, and you are everything. No alternate viewpoints, no one to be your friend, just…you. We are raised to believe that we can do anything and everything, but, what does that leave for the billions of other people who believe the same? Where is the love in that scenario? There is none. Hence, my piece of poetry, “Limits”.
